Is it me, or does the Fire second set opener sound like a guy that is trying to find a little piece of reality to latch on to? It's weird enough as the set opener, but then it just has a "this is kind of familiar to my fingers" feel to it.

I am going to sit right here until I die
Yeah, that is what you will be saying if you dance your butt off to this nice first set.
I particularly like the way 1st set gets funkier as it progresses, I can swear they are giving Jerry the Chula Vista during Stager Lee.
Anyhow, I thought 86 had so much potential because the boys were high octane in 85 and as this show attests they were in good form heading out for Summer Tour. Then I don't know it was so hot and I mean temp wise and there was Dylan looking like he had just done the Encino Man thing. I really thought he had no blood left in his veins, Then the Jerry Diabetic coma dang it was a rough summer. But we got a second wind although it took awhile for the band to gel like 85- early 86 again.
There is a serious buzz during the quiet parts of this show but other than that the sound is first rate. Really vicious BUCKET here before it got over predictable and top 40.
This is in my book a very tasty first set. They really rock out the Bucket. All those Cowboy tunes were nailed as well.
Can I have a favorite Bucket? This might be it and speaking of MIGHT as Freakin' WELL!
Fire>Samson I really dig this, somebody comes in early vocally during FIRE but the band just takes it in stride.
Ship, Women Smarter- Not always two of my favorite tunes but especially the Man Smart sounds like free advice this night.
Truckin'>GDTRFB Again any vocal miscues are brushed aside quickly as the boys especially Garcia have come to play. Check out Jerry's guitar work during Going Down the Road...
A fast Jerry tune followed by a slow Jerry tune not always easy to pull off in the later years. But I love Jerry's vocals here... This was part of what made this band so great live, to go from flat out slam dancing to very slow dancing bone to bone. And Stella does have a kick to it towards the end as well...
great LOVELIGHT rap by Weir the SUMMERTIME!!!
Encore(s) U.S. Blues has a real umph to it
Bobby really sings backing vocals.
Box of Rain pretty sweet any time, anywhere.
"Me forgetting the words" ha!
And the band played on...
Phil nails the end verse just like back in the day my friends.

This is a terrific recording of a nice '86 show. Certainly worth a good listen.
